Mark, thanks for the link.None of my other Juncker badges have a beveled pin. However ,the Minesweeper badge shown above does have a beveled pin.
Maybe we can attribute it to Juncker?
      Regards,Martin.

Hmm...no beveled pin here. Judging from the pics so far and the old thread I would agree these are probably Juncker made pieces, with variations in the pin (to bevel or not to bevel) and also interesting is the hinge pivot pins--some have a head and some do not. None of this surprises me about Juncker though, in fact that is what I would expect from this firm. They seem to constantly make subtle changes like this. Some really great info here guys-- keep it coming!

Have done a search but cannot find this thread maybe someone else can. All the best
Not sure if this is relevant, but here are images of what I believe is a series of Juncker products. The hinges and pins are identical. The marked piece (L/12) of the three is a 39' EK Spange. The early spange and the UBoat match, hardware wise, to the L/12 spange. Different hinges than are being discussed here, but I wanted to show a Juncker UBoat with different hardware than that being discussed.

Does anyone have an unmarked Juncker UBoat with the block hinge, and can post it?

          regards,
          Mark

Oh. And the front of the UBoat, just for reference.

                  Hi Jeff,

Thanks. Sometimes I get the feeling that between you and I, we cover a lot of territory.

Back to the original question. Is the style of hinge on your UBoat similar to the ones on the Minesweepers?

                  Regards,
                  Mark

Hi Mark, I would say that the hinges are identical on this u-boat and the minesweepers. best wishes,

                      Gentlemen,
Maybe it's my eyes here but I see lots of differences in the two U-boots that Mark and Jeff posted. Are we dealing with two types here? I still have much to learn about KM badges.
                      Regards, Brian

Hi Brian, other than the fact that Mark's badge is in better shape and the hardware is completely different, the obverse is the same. best wishes,

Ok thanks Jeff, it must be the lighting and angle that had me wondering. Not to mention all the beers!

                                Thanks Martin,

I forgot all about that one. I remembered all the unmarked badges and overlooked your Juncker.

Weren't there two types of catches on those early Juncker CAs? Round or flat wire? And has it been determined which catch was on the 'earliest' Juncker CA?

                                Mark
