    Hi Richard,

Maybe a direct comparison with a "textbook" example would make things easier.

Obverse - different eagle's head, different around the chain break, different lower row of bridge windows, different abchor, different swas, etc.

Reverse... different hardware, different maker's mark, different cut-out profiles.

I have to agree that the AGMuK is a fake.. The only AGMuK I would accept would have to be made of zinc and as shown above by Mike.

The style of badge and lettering reminds me very much of the old Cave Creek Schwerin Fake.

Boxed sets of the AGMuk badges were made in the Uk from the mid 80`s until the bloke who made them died in an accident ,I think early 90`s,I was told he fell off a wall while drunk!!Anyway thease sets are still about but many have been split up and their parts mixed with real items. They are of note as the ball hinge was not used as I feel we like to see on real AGMuk badges as well as the lettering not being the right size etc.I have always keep a close note on who is making what over here and hope this info helps.

Thanks Mike & Group - Your comparison was just what I was looking for and much appreciated. I am glad that the cased Schwerin is good and that the other has been nailed down for what it is. At least we have another example to post to the fake gallery. I will do that tonight. Still think I will get rid of the extra Schwerin though.
                Happy Hunting, Richard

Bringing this one back to the top so that it does not get confused with the ebay fake.
