The reverse. These awards came in two finishes silver and grey, silver being the harder ones to find.

Just a thought regarding Andre award is it possible a worn or leeking die produced the front? also a diffent factory. Do we know how many factories produced this award? See what I mean about crap pics!!!. All the best

Hi Guys have to say this has turned out to be a really good thread .

That was the whole idea when I started first it.
And thats why I didn't post this expertise from Niemann before now.
The reason is also because if you post a medal/badge with a expertise at the same time, there are hardly any discussion.

This has turned up great and I have also learned more about the schwerin minesweeper badge!!

I don't need to say that I'm surpriced about the outcome

I must admit that the hardware looked OK to me though I had reservations about the placement of the catch...I guess not so unusual then.

What concirned me besides the MM was the lack of detail, lack of hand finishing on the outer edge on reverse, odd gold finish and the zinc bubbles/finish lifting wich still doesn't look right to me...but I guess I'll learn something new everyday about variations.

Hi Andre highly interesting The detail around the bottom of the award looks better on Detlevs pic. Still curious about what may have caused the rest. My two questions about die and known factories still stand if anyone knows the answer. All the best
