          Yes, do some forum searches and you will see the reverse setup is unique indeed and for sure a "Wernstein". However, let me clarify that at this point, the Wernstein mark is a guess, an educated guess, but nothing more.

          We do not know for sure that Wernstein made this badge, but if Wernstein did not, who did? ( I am quoting the response to my question on this badge to Gordon W.)

          All this said, it is a period badge, Wernstein or not, and nice to have in your collecton.

            For zinc badges, the "Wernstein" did hold up a bit better on the gold finish obverse and reverse, as reflected in yours, so while not mint, it still retains decent finish after all these years, and as I said above, I do believe this was worn by a sailor during the war.

                  Both are singled stamped I believe, for sure in my case. I think it is just the photo images.
