    Original? Maker?

    Hello guys,

what can you make out of the reverse of this U-boat badge? I've searched the forum but can't seem to find a badge with the same reverse setup.
    Thanks in advance.

    Rik,

If you could post some straight on pics of the reverse (w/o the string) as well as one of the front, this would help immensly.

Hi Sauron hinge looks like a possible replacement. Going off the look and style of the reverse I would say possible K&Q but that is just a guess, and could easily turn out to be a fake without seeing the front. All the best

          badge

To be honest sauron, it does not look like the same badge reverse to obverse. Maybe an illusion, but the pin is much longer in one shot than the other.

If you are planning to buy this, wait for better pictures, I am assuming you do not own this one, there is a tag at the top.

The color of the background is different in each shot, something is wrong here.

When you have the right images, angles, same background, no blurred out portions, then maybe we have something to go with.

For now, I see problems with what you are trying to determine.

            Hello John,

The pic of the reverse was made later than the pic of the obverse. Also the lenghth of the pin is the same, it's just an illusion because of the angle the photo is taken in. If you look closely you can see.
I'm going to leave this badge alone, if it was a known maker I would have expected more replies naming the maker.
I want to thank you for looking at this post.

            Ciao

Hi sauron the angle of the shot is not good enough to determine the maker, the picture needs to be taken more straight on, as I mentioned previously i believe the hinge has been replaced. I think you are wise to leave it alone there are better out there. All the best
