    thoughts on suspect badges

    Good Afternoon please can any confirm these are pants
    HFB has limited triangles at wreath points ,has all 5 windows on bridge,hinge stops at 90o but guilded all over both badges have irregular mm.Eboat no traces of silver on boat but too highly detailed on acorns etc I am 80% sure now that they are pants

          Both are fakes, using the wrong base metall, wrong lettering and wrong pin setup

            Indeed, as fake as they come but these were made to fool unsuspecting collectors.

                  Nothing to add but confirmation, both repro, you might want to try in future posts to provide as large an image as possible. The forum has much greater capacity for image size than what you posted. In this case, we can tell since they are so obvious, but if there are small differences in the fakes, or a new series of fakes, we like to get them over to the fake gallery in a format that brings out all the details.

                  You might want to experiment a bit even with these images and see if you can create a larger image for posting.

                  Most of us finally come to the conclusion we need a decent photo program, I use Digital Pro, it is a good one.

                      well, I gave it a quick try with your image to show you what I mean. THe clearer the image and the larger the image the better of course. You are right, you need to start with a good clear shot to begin with. Especially on Schwerin badges since the maker's mark is so important.
