      Hi Marc,

yes it was. The owner was "Albert Bruns" he was Obermaat at the "Doggerbank".

I got the badge from the owner himself.

            Hi,

A hard to find badge to begin with, but exceptionally rare when made in Japan. Fantastic piece!

I think Kriegsmarine awards are underappreciated and will soon go up in value. And this piece will be one of the rarest!

I have only seen one for sale but it did not have a pedigree.

Was the Doggerbank sunk by by a German U-boot during the war by accident? Thank you. Charlie

Outstanding badge! I think Barry sold one not too long ago on his site.

Look at the cap the Viking is wearing....it looks like something of Asian design...and the bowsprit looks like a Dragon..makes me wonder if these badges were made from fresh dies made in Japan.

A fantastic badge with great provenance!!! It is the centerpiece of a KM badge collection.
