Zimmermann Uboat?

Hey guys... I am looking over this badge as a possibility.

My best guess is that this is a Zimmermann.

Your best guess would be correct, it is a Zimmermann.

Hi Adwyn, Without seeing the swaz, my best guess would be Zimmermann, not a mean enough looking eagle for a Mayer, there are also smaller less noticeable difference between the two,

I have looked at these pics again and something strikes me as very odd. The color of the badge appears to be zinc, yet all the hardware is for a tombak example. Or maybe the camera has washed out the true color and my eyes are being deceived. best wishes,

Interesting badge. First one I see in apparant zinc.

Hardware setup is indeed strange, but all looks correct otherwise.

I noted that it still had some gorl coloring around the catch in the last pic that you do not see in the second pic, so I am wondering if the flash/light is effecting.

But it's a zincer alright. Though I didnt notice the catch IS fastened directly to the badge as if it were tombak. Bizarre...

Anyone know of another example of a zink Zimmermann that I could compare it to?
