badge
We have seen this badge a few times before, no doubt original. Stamp, who knows--first item on which it has showed up.
The badge has been discussed and posted a few years ago just without the stamp.

Originally posted by trident3Philippe, is this not the same badge without the "Z" mark you posted above in the link? John
Yep it is. It's one of the more common zinc CA badges but untill now I never ever saw one with a mark and also don't have a clue towards a possible maker.

I have been looking at this badge as well. John mentioned on his web site (I doubt he will care we are talking about it here) that he is looking for more info on this badge as well, but has no doubt it's legit.
No clue on the maker, though... My first thought was maybe one of the many "Zimmerman" companies... but none of them made KM badges to my knowledge.
Perhaps it's a test strike? A sales tool to try and get the LDO to license them?

Personally, I think this is a post-war added mark. It has not been unusual for collectors and dealers to use old, surplus, garage-sale stamps to mark otherwise uninteresting badges.
