    Excellent! Thanks Jody!!

I think this is answering my orig question which was wether or not any authentic blockade runners had no metal between the wings... seems that question is NO. So anything without metal between the wings should be looked with more then a degree of suspicion.

    Thanks a bunch, guys!

      Hi,

Well, I've finally got my mind off the soccer (b*llocks free kick, and to be fair it should only have been a yellow card, not red - we weren't defeated by the Italians, we were defeated by the ref!) long enough to figure out exactly what you are talking about. Sometimes editing an image (adding a circle to highlight a point) can help immensly.

As it seems no-one read what I mentioned about an apparently genuine (to me) badge without this piece of metal/flashing, I'll post a pic. Not a great pic but it shows everyting you need. I'm sure you can figure out who sold it as well.

So for me, the answer is YES - it just shouldn't be marked Schwerin.

      Regards
      Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

I can't figure out who sold it.

Nor was I ignoring you. I just assumed that we were still not clear on what we were talking about at that point, when you mentioned it.

The one above in post #17 appears to have material between the wings, and looks like a variation of a Schwerin. But the pic shows only 6 port holes in the second to the last row of portholes, making it suspect right there!

Do you have this badge, Mike? If so, can you post a better pic of the front?

        Thanks!
        Aldwyn

Look at the reverse image - which is where I start with any badge evaluation. The profile of the full "V" cut-out is quite clear, even on these cruddy pics. I do not have better pics. Maybe I can find another of this type in my files though.

Sorry, I do not own the badge. I would have no problems owning it though!
