    " Km Badges "

    Hi Guys,
    I'm a collector of German & Italian Helmets .
A friend of mine found these badges in a farm near my house.
I think that are badges of speciality but I'm not sure....Let me know something .
    Is someone interested on these?

            KM Badges

            Hello,
Yes they are German and from WWII. They are senior NCO shoulder strap career devices. The 1st device is for Artillery Mechanics Career, and the 2nd device is for Radio Operator Career.

            Regards,
            Jody

Hi Jody, I know very little about the KM

But I have a feeling these are the badges used on the sleeve rank insignia? I know it is hard to judge in the pics, but I am going by the size of them? Just a guess.

              Cheers, Ade.

                  Devices

Yes, these are sleeve rating trade badges (Laufbahnabzeichen). In this case, Petty Officers and Chief Petty Officers could at their own expense purchase versions in gilt metal alloy. This was fixed to a badge-cloth base by the four prongs which was in turn fastened behind a metal backing plate. It wasa covered on the reverseside with black linen. (This thanks to Showell's German Navy in WWII).

Without the rest of the badge, your particular devices are not complete and therefore not really of much value I am sorry to say.

My collection of these badges are attached. John
