They are almost made to look like the hinge/catch have been replaced so they are more believeable.

Hi Flak thanks for sharing the info . Have encountered the HSF F.O before as well as the U-Boat L/18 before? Very confincing but the finish and look of the metal looked wrong. All the best

For those of us still learning, can you guys point out what it is about these badges that make you feel they are fake?

I, for one, would be much oblidged to be schooled with such edumacation!
