Hi gentlemen.
Some advice please.Were early H.S.F.badges by schwerin produced in brass.I am asking,because i have aquired one,and am not quite sure.

Hi Mike,

Yes they were made in tombak - looks like brass but a slightly different alloy.

There are plenty or original examples imaged on the forum for comparison - I hope you researched before your purchase!

Hi Mike,
thanks for the info.i did do a little research, but what was throwing me was that the back of the badges are dark in colour on most h.s.f. badges this one is brass coloured.It as come from a highly reputuble dealer though.

Sounds like the finish is extremely worn or has been stripped from the reverse. I hope the highly reputable dealer reflected it in his price! Any pics?
