coastal artillery opinions?

I have this very nice coastal artillery badge. Unfortunately the pin and hook at the back are completely gone...I think it's a bacqueville.
can anyone confirm that?

Hi Ludwig these awards have been sold by some of the big respectable dealers, and are in some of the TR award books. I will not say what my own views are on these as I sit on looking around from the fence. But each to their own.

Absolutely! I have no problem with that at all.
They are very well made and I have had some in my collection many years ago.
But something tells me they are not war period, but that´s just my personal opinion. I don´t have any proof.

I think there is a thread here about these french made badges.

Yes, but the question – IMO – is are they original at all?

I for example believe in them. We have discussed this Bacqueville issue before, in several threads, with no definite proof either way. Pretty much a matter of belief and how one evaluates the badges and cartons and the stories related to them.
