Any chance this could be a U boat tradition badge for a particular U Boat crew ,its about 35cm long and 30cm wide hand made in brass with a cast deer which perhaps signifies hunting . Or is it just another trinket for the spares tin.Thankyou Rob.

Hi,
Looks like a WW1 design to me, because of the type of U that is used here.
Could perhaps also be for U-Jäger, Big U with a deer on it.
