      Hello David,

Though I'm not familiar with Km badges, it looks like a cast copy to me, considering what looks like airpockets on the reverse.

      Regards,
      Henrik

        IMO not original!

Try for some better pics, bring the focus closer to the badge. And one with the pin folded down. I am not so sure if this is a fake.

            Hi,

From what I can see, I think the badge is probably original. The obverse detail, finish and wear appear good and authentic. It's a worn badge, possibly polished, giving it a cast appaerance to the reverse but I think the images are deceptive in this case. I agree with Frank, better pics (and one with the pin down) will help, but I'll be surprised if they show bad signs.

            Regards
            Mike

And I assume we will get to see the "Meybauer" pin when folded down.
              Cheers, Frank

Had the same thought myself and the new pics seem to confirm it. I don't recall seeing a Minesweeper Badge with a "sexy" Meybauer pin before. Cut-out swas as well. Interesting badge but still no alarm bells for me.

                          badge

Not sure about this one, either way. Does it not appear that there are initials scrapped into the reverse. Good sign pehaps if this is an "H" for example that it is real.

Just for the record, I believe this to be original as well. At first my only concern was the air pockets mentioned above but on closer inspection, they look to be tool marks. Probably used to create the concavity of the badge, similar to the marks we see on RK badges. Detail, finish, wear all look good to me.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

After your a little bit better pictures, I have to change my opinion (once again , but at least I´m honest enough to stand för that ).
                              Looks OK.
