I am posting my Schwerin U Boat Badge for your comments and consideration. I apologize in advance for my scans, but I'm hoping for a digital camera from Santa that I can call my own.

This badge features the crosshatched hinge pin head which is seen on some Schwerin examples.

Nice badge, nothing wrong with that. Interesting makers mark though the lettering looks quite small, any chance of a good close up photo or scan of this

Stunning badges guys

Jody, It looks like the lower portion of the swas is not completely cut out on yours (maybe on Dennis' badge as well). I never noticed this before, is this the norm for these badges. It might just be my eyes. You can probably see this better from the reverse pic.

Mike, look at the catch. No plate underneath it certainly points, in 99% of cases to a badge being buntmetal.

Really nice badges guys. Just love the gold on these early Schwerins. Not so wild about the eagle design though.

Are you sure this is not the standard size of the maker's mark on "C' clasp badges and the larger size maker's mark is on the "wire" badges?

Very good point, something I had not noticed before, don't have one of these marked later "C" clasp badges. You have me looking for one now!!!
