Another Schwerin HSF to Look Over

Here's another Bock/Schwerin HSF for comments. I know one of these was just posted for opinions, but due to the high number of repros out there, I just want to be certain mine is ok too.

    Thanks for your assistance.

No problems as far as I can see.

          Nice example Scott.

              Hi Scott,

Look like a nice tombak example in very good condition - no worries!

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Pretty sure this is a buntmetaller.

As Skip mentioned I believe this is a buntmetal badge based on the finish and hardware attachment on the back.

Thanks for all the quick replies gentlemen

                      Eyes

Yes, the old eyes could be better, but what I was looking at and fooled by was this last photo. I thought on glance it was a zinc base, but the second photo down does not have this, so I agree, it is tombak. Just wanted you to see what I was seeing. Or not seeing.

                        example

This was what I was comparing it with, thought I saw the same little platform attachment (from our assoc. files on this badge). I can see it is not the same.

Hi john. Yes, now that you point it out - the picture can give the impression the catch is on a small base typical of a zinc badge. However, that's just an illusion from the lighting/angle. The catch on the badge I posted is attached directly to the badge.

Thanks looking it over so closely!

                          Cheers.

Pleased to agree that, compared to the several genuine ones that I have in my collection, this badge is a nice, period original. Regards, John
