    My first ever Naval Awards

    Hello

I have just received the first Naval awards that I have ever purchased. One is a WW2 Blockade Breaker badge, with it's minature in the award case. Not mint, but not bad either.
The other two are 1957 re-issue versions of the Blockade Breaker badge and the Destroyer badge. The 57 re-issue are very solid, reasonably heavy items.

I hope you don't mind me sharing them with you. Any comments or observations on the awards welcomed.

    Regards
    David

Hi David not saying your badge is a fake but i have not seen a pin like that on a BB before. Hinge and catch look ok does the pin show any signs that it may have been replaced? My other point and that could be down to the pics (look blurred) but the mm looks a little weak and overdone.Has the catch a base plate?hard to tell.

I think it's just the angle of the picture. The mm looks ok .. I think it's just the lighting. The pin looks fine, just appears to be bent.

A better pic of the mm would help but I like what I can see. As for the pin it does look like it was flattened out somehow which is making it look a bit funky. Is there any sign the it was repaired or reattached at the hinge?

                  Hi,

Although the pics aren't the best, both the badge and mini look genuine to me. The badge is quite worn and the main pin seems to have been bent due to wear - a character badge. The hinge/pin/catch look unrepaired to me from the pics.

I have to agree with Mike on this one. Looks good to me! Pin is bent a little (not uncommon), but it looks like a nice used example.

Also agree with Mike. Badge is original. Sometimes on the BB badges the pin makes a very large curve away from the hinge, have seen minty unworn ones like this. I guess when wearing it would push the badge away from the jacket so the guy probably flattened it down a little.

                        Hello

                        Thanks for all the comments.

The pin is indeed bent at the top. There are no signs of repair / replacement. If I still have them I'll post the pictures from the dealer that I had before buying it, as they are much clearer and better than mine.

                        Regards
                        David

                          Hello

I still had the pictures from the dealer, which as I said are much clearer than mine. So here they are.

                          Regards
