    COAs

Does anyone collect COAs or have a COA library on his computer? DNs book does not show badges in color.

What COA maker are you looking for?

For what reason would someone want to collect COA's?

I forsee the day when many collectors will collect COA's and leave the badges and medals in the trusted dealer's vault. This way, the collection is easily portable and you can save on all those pesky postage and insurance fees.

                      Bob,

you are absolute correct! Meanwhile, for some people the COA is already half the value of the actual medal - so why not make the next step! Issue and sell "ownership papers", easily tradable and portable.

This of course will open up a new business line: COA's for "ownership papers"!

I do not want to be the dead horse here, but, what is a COA?
                        Cheers, Sean

I hope that I am understanding the scope of the conversation, and I am merely trying to look ahead at the results/consequences. This is not intended as a slam at anyone who performs appraisals/authentications as they are providing a service for those that want it, but I don't care what name appears on a piece of paper. While I will always ask for the opinions of those I think are knowledgeable, in the end the final decision will have to be mine. I am not prepared to invest a large part of the asking price of the item into a piece of paper. I hope that opening a new avenue of collecting COA's doesn't push the already high prices on some items further into the realm of insanity. I think that a lot of items (not all) are already way overpriced just because a pedigree accompanies them. Just my TCW.
