    Help with Sub Badge

    Hello All,

I purchased this badge off of estand and would like opinions on originality (I know the pin is not original, but what about the rest?). If original, any ideas on the maker?

    Thanks,
    Lee

      Hi Lee,

Well based upon these small pics my best guess would be original zinc Deumer with replacement pin and catch. To say anything about the finish better pics are needed.

Hello all, and thanks for the responses so far. My photo skills are lacking. I know that the catch has been repaired , but it almost looks like the solder has gold paint on it in places. The gold paint onboth sides of the badge is metalic. Is this type of paint consistant with the time period. Let me know if better photos or close-up are needed.

                      Regards,
                      Lee

                        Hi Lee

These Deumer zinkers don't hold their finish very well. Your pics still aren't sharp but based upon your own comment, metalic look and pain on top of the solder of the replaced catch I'm confident that it was refinished or at least touched up. Try a little of your wifes nail polish on it when the paint sticks to the cotton you can be sure it's refinished.

This is the condition most of these badges are found in.

                            Hi Philippe,

Thanks for the photos and information. Do you mean nail polish or nail polish remover?

                            Thanks,
                            Lee

                              Anyone Else?

Does anyone have any other input? Were these badges ever made with a metalic type finish? I can try and take some other photos if it will help, just let me know.

                              Regards,
                              Lee
