Dear Jörg,

In my opinion this is a high end fake. Maker mark, reverse outlines and handfinishing, setup, die faults, all slightly wrong or missing.

I would not want it for my collection. The reverse is not what one would see on an original.

But what is the difference to an original one? When I compare it with the one in Detlevs Book, I can not a big difference between them.

The hardware is not correct. The pin is not shaped correctly, the catch has a plate and is also the wrong type and I do not like the hinge as well. The MM is close and looks good but when compared side to side with an original the differences are there.

Please use the search function to find pics of original badges. There should be some posted here. The one you show is definitely not the real deal.

The other guys have already pointed you in the right direction. Additionally, on the rear, check the scooped out portion of the badge. The bottom of the scoop is lower on the good badge.
