    Hi Skip,

Well for me post number 9 tells it all. This is not something the bad guys are able to produce. Just look at the quality of that hinge and apart from that the genuine staining of the gold finish, the zink bubbling on the right top site and the dark discoloration of the zinc exposed under the pressure foot mark. The day they manage to copy all of this I will be selling my collection but most likely won't find any buyers anymore.

I fully agree, and I personally do not have problems with both of these badges.

        So??
Does the forum agree this badge is authentical???
This badge is to play a huge role. It will be used as an offical gift from Polish Submariners to a new Naval Museum. If this one is a good quality fake I'll propably live ......but not for long

Is there anyone here who in this very moment is thinking of selling his u-boat badge???
        I intend to buy it!!!
regards to all who has posted info in this thread for me.
        Thanks

        Adam
Any other comments on this particular piece would be very helpfull.

What more are you asking for? You recieved many opinions from believers to non-believers, now you can make up your own mind. As a little guidance:

-if you want a 100% textbook badge, nobody will be afraid of, this is NOT it.

-if you want an interesting badge, which has a very good chance to be original and a keybadge to identify a new maker of these badges, that IS your badge.
            Cheers, Frank

              Thanks Frank

propably you're right. Maybe I just expected a litlle more confidance from the forum. The guidances you wrote are painfully right. I'm just not sure I'm ready to take this chance. Maybe I'll just wait for an oportunity to buy a 100% oryginal!!

              Thanks again to all

I really liked this badge when I owned it, I got mine (before I sold it without problems) from a very good source. These badges can't be recently made just because the one Frank posted (the one I had) is more than 20 years old for sure! In my opinion these are good badges.
                Kind regards,
                Giel

So what are we saying, are we willing to accept it as an authentic one?

                  Hi
I came across an ebay auction:
                  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...DME:L:RTQ:UK:1
Here are the pictures he sent.I searched the forum for comparisons and I believe this to be the same badge, being sold from India. Just thought I would highlight this incase anyone else is looking at this auction.
