Hi David,
Sharp reverse view is required and side shots of hinge and catch. From these blurry images I do not like it. At least it was refinished or it's just a fake.
Here is what original example of this variand should look like.

Hi David,
Thanks for better images. The badge is wartime original IMO. As far as the finish is concerned I just do not know. As I said before, most accepted original examples show the gild absorbed by zinc as on the badge that I posted.
