    Juncker Hilfskreuzer.

    It's been ages since I purchased a badge,i'm done with collecting,but when my stepson in Oregon sent me pictures of this one,along with price I had to get it.
    Probably one of the nicest looking Juncker's I've seen and I have five more in my collection,including a boxed,unissued piece.
    The original finish is almost intact,great polished highlighs,and the mainpin retains most of its original black finish
    I really like the darkened globe on this badge too.

            Hi Martin.
            Just out of curiosity, do you happen to know what made Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus use a Viking longship as a major motif of the Auxiliary Cruiser badge design? Is there any story behind it?

            Recently I have seen Gordon Williamson posted a very interesting medal commemorating the Captain of SMS 'Möwe', Nikolaus Burggraf und Graf zu Dohna-Schlodien. As we know SMS 'Möwe' was famous German WW1 auxiliary cruiser. I enclose an example of such medal.

              Hi Hubert,

              my guess is that the Auxiliary Cruisers were referred to as "raiders",therefore the ship and the globe represent the early Viking raiders that roamed the North Atlantic ??
