    CAB in cellophane

It struck me that about the same moment I find two unmarked coastal artillery badges, same finish in two different shops in its 'original' cellophane.

    Do these look good?

    Hi,
It is original late war S&L zincer. These common S&Ls and also Rettenmaiers are often found packed in such LDO marked celophanes. A hoard find may explain the fact that they are listed on several dealer sites at the moment.
    Cheers,
    Hubert

Thanks Hubert. I can imagine finding a big box filled with these somewhere. Would they've received their gold layer later because without being used it should be in pristine condition?
They seem to have abnormal corrosion too.

Yes, they did receive a gild. It's still visible on the hardware.

They were stored poorly and the gold wash has faded away. Do the badges, and yourself, a favor and treat them with Vaseline to stop the zinc rot from growing and eating away on the badges.
