It is a genuine badge but hinge, pin, catch and catchplate are all new replacements in my opinion- nice repair but clearly wrong. Also the gold on the wreath is modern imo

My thoughts too Patrick - the badge, finish (I think the gilding is OK, but may be wrong) and top hook look OK but the rest of the hardware is not correct.

I must agree with Mike and Patrick after further assessment. I guess I jumped to quick after seeing the top hook and the bubbling on the finish. Sorry for not scrutinizing the badge better.

I agree with Patrick on all points. You can see that the hinge is replaced with late 1960's-1970's-style hollow hinge block and the catch plate is oversized, followed by another layer of dark finish and gilding.
