Was it common for HJ and DJ caps to have an adler?

Most HJ caps just have the Diamond. I have a tan side cap with the eagle and diamond. Visor caps use the eagle.

It goes too deep, to explain all about the wearing of eagles within the HJ.
There are regulations, but it goes to far for me to give an explanation "in full size".
Some did wear an eagle unauthorized.

Thank-you everyone for your very knowledgeable replies. I've never seen a photo of this cap with a metal adler before but I never looked for it before either so I could of easily missed it while reviewing thousands of images.

Happy Canada Day That boy looks too young to be an actual member of the DJ but the eagles were worn on the winter caps of regular members of the DJ and HJ. More on the HJ research forum here.
