I should of said DJ not HJ. The first jacket has a blank shoulder strap. Does anyone know why the strap wouldn't have a number.

Blank shoulderstraps were manfactured and sold from authorized uniform stores . They were sold like this at a reduced price . The owner then could have the numbers sewn on by himself or another family member skilled in sewing .

Well done ! Really nice HJ knife collection, nice makers. Love the Puma ! BTW heard of a way cool HJ knife selling for $5,600.

The jacket has a very light sunwashed color. Very well worn. The ones I owned were darker in color. Wish I had kept a few, but I changed my collecting emphasis. Still love em' and fun to study.
