Device?! for making BAR TO THE IRON CROSS

    Hello everyone,
I have for review this misterious item, could it be a "die"? Is it possible? What do you think of it?

Found on scrap-heap a few years ago.

        Hi,

Intersting items. The first one looks to me like the real thing.
Die of the Spangee zum EK2. Klasse 1939 of W. Deumer ?

And what about the size? Should it be so big? Spange has circa 30mm usually

9mm was used for a lapel pin or the clasp for the ribbon bar.

And agree it is in the Deumer pattern.

Yes, that is strange. Way too big for a normal clasp. One thought is that this die was used as an example to make the prototype for the actual die, downsizing it maybe?

My thoughts were similar. This may be a master die used to produce the daughter dies from which the spange was then struck.

                  Regards

PS: maybe you'll get some more response if the thread was moved to the Crosses forum

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!
