Looks like a good Juncker 2.1 IMO.
    Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

I suspect that it may be a casting- the details are very soft.

        Have you measured it?

Would we expect to see the 'pip' on the end of the Snakes nose and tail?

I find the APB to be the hardest badge to authenticate. There were dies floating around post war and suspect that’s when many of them were produced, although I suppose that could be said of all badges, the APB has such a limited production and limited production period that their study and conclusions about them are limited.

You guys might be right about a casting. When I compare these weights and measurements to what is listed in Antonio's book it is small and light.

For me also a casting badge, good to to see on the cut outs. Important "finger prints" are also missing.

                    Regards

A fake for me. The obverse details are quite weak, and the hinge is not correct IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Although my first impression was that I liked it, after reviewing it again and comparing it to know originals I agree with the others that the details are too weak - so yes reproduction although a very nice repro.

I agree that this badge is not an original one, but a nice cast fake.

I disagree. Juncker's dies were destroyed on February 45. So no Juncker dies were floating after the war.
Maybe one Souval die, but it is easy to recognize. The second Souval die was already broken during the war and was only used after the war for few specimens and with a different back die.
The only die really used after the war was the S&L, but today everybody know S&L badges are questionable and it is better to stay away of them.

I thought there was a 350 pages book on the subject, with deep studies in it... Maybe I was wrong.

One of my favorite badges on this board to read the really experiences collectors give their opinions on. I am no expert, but what jumped out as a red flag on this badge is the very bright colored pin. To me it looks new. Some of these badges have the fingerprints that made easy calls as real. Then some like this one have none.
