    New Arrivals

My wife sent me some pics today of some badges I've been waiting for, and I wanted to share them with you all. The first is a zinc hollowback IAB. I researched some old threads before I bought it and I think it is attributed to Hymmen? I know Roman had some of these, anyone else have some for comparison?

This one is the second of it's type that I now have, and I am still baffled in terms of a maker. I thought for a while it might be an L/10 but after comparing it to Jan's which was posted recently I don't think so anymore.

      Hi Greg,

As far as I'm concerned they are not Hymmen badges but produced by the same maker responsible for the second pattern Daisy PAB.

That being said a link with Hymmen is very likely, not only is the design very similar but also the set-up evolution on the Hymmen and Daisy-maker runs parallel on both the IAB's and the PAB's.

This is what I believe to be the early buntmetall Hymmen IAB (however it could just as well be a second pattern Daisy maker IAB. Also the Daisy PAB comes in two different patterns). The easiest way to tell them apart is on the one hand the eagles expression and on the other hand the fact that on the Hymmen's there isn't an open space between the K98 and the wreath

If this indeed is the second pattern Daisy maker IAB, then IMO chances a very real that Hymmen and the Daisy maker are one and the same maker for the simple reason that I would find it very diffucult to believe that Hymmen never made the early hollow buntmetall IAB. Hope your still following

                    Hi Greg,

Well that's really simple. Find them both a bronze bride

                    Happy hunting!

                      Hi Greg

Do you have a close up of the eagle of the one you thought might be L/10.
What are the talons like, they are very distintive on the L/10.
Check Jans thread out again I put in an unmarked badge I thought to be an L/10.

Phil, are you aware of any other IABs that have similar talons to the L/10 ??

                      cheers

                      Graeme

                        Philippe,
I understand you to say that both of the above badges are produced by either Hymenn or the second pattern daisy people. Yet they both demonstrate different construction traits. The eagles head is different between the two. One (the buntmetal) has a cutout between the rifle and swastika where as the zincer does not. The hinge on these two are of different type also. I have a silver buntmetal and a bronze zincer that I will post. They look very much alike untill you closely examine them. If the company responsible for these two badges switched from buntmental to zinc would they have to change the dies so that we would see what we have here before us? Why would they not be the same since they are both hollowback?

Reverse. As you can see the hinge is different from the silver besides being on a standard plate for a zinc badge. It has a pointed pin as opposed the blunt one on the buntmetal but I don't know if that really counts for anything.
