    GAB “Half Moon”

    Hello,
This was one of my son’s stocking stuffers this Christmas. It’s a “ half moon” GAB.

    Regards,
    Jody

              Hi Jody,

Gorgeous original in really excellent condition! Love the finish on these, and the copper undercoating these zinc badges received certainly helped keep the nice white frosted finish in place on this one. A keeper for sure.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Great find. Even though they're zinc, these rival cupal GABs when they retain as much finish as this one does.

                      Hi Guys,
Thanks he is happy with it. We have an early stamped tombak one and this one looks prettier.

A few more pictures of it.

                      Regards,

It's this unknown maker - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=526040. Named half moon because of the half circle shaped plate that the hinge sits on.

I was just getting ready to ask the same question. I was looking for a "halbmond" punch mark ... or something.

                              Half Moon

As it has been pointed out by Dale, the half moon refers to this back plate under the hinge. I apologize for not making that clear in my original post.
