    CCC question???

    Hi, does anyone out there have a close combat clasp that is made of solid construction without the backing plate? It is not cut out and is unmarked. What is your opinion on these? Thanks, DEL

    Dear Del,

    We discussed at least one of these before. The one shown back then looked believable to me. I think there is a good possibility these existed pre 1945. But be aware that you will always own an item which is questionable to some.

      I own one of these CCCs in silver and have no doubt that it is a good one. Detlev looked at it and gave thumbs up.

          Del,

          I agree with Frank. The solid NKSs were made late in the war. But just as with all other 3R awards, there is no reason to believe these aren't reproduced also.

          That being said, the crooks seem to focus more on makermarked FLLs, F&BLs, JFSs, GWLs, and AGMuKs.

                I have never owned, nor even seen a one-piece Nahkampfspange before, but I would have no problem with the one that Allan posted. It looks good to me and it screams of being real.
