Hi guys,
thought it would be nice sharing this new Assmann cupal pab for my collection.
This badge was a US vet bringback and is in worn condition.
Vibrant colours on this badge with fragments of the former silver finish in the deeper parts of the badge. On the backside the finish is more visible.
Besides shades of the finish and the cupal basemetal, this badge is covered with a greyish patina which is quite typical for this version. I have several other cupal a pab's on file which are covered in the same greyish patina or oxidation. Some examples look very dark and have almost a charcoal look to them. Many of these were sold or mistaken for bronze grades, while they are silver.
I have a weakness for badges with wear and an untouched patina to them as so many were already cleaned in the past.
Merry Christmas to all!
