    Hi everyone

Helping out a friend here and just wants to make sure if this indeed is the infamous Donald Duck fake?

    Hi Thomas,

Nope it isn't. It's a desirable hollow buntmetall GAB by an unknown maker on which the DD fake most likely was based.

Also interesting to know is that this unknown maker seems to be the only one that ever produced a factory made screwback GAB

            Hi Dion,

Nope, that's a buntmetall hollow BH Mayer, the most commonly encountered early GAB

Thomas as I wrote many times before there just don't exist good copies of early hollow buntmetall badges.

At this moment the best they can do is produced mint looking examples that are getting so good that even the best will have a hard time figuring it out only by looking at pictures. The same goes for worn looking zinc hollow badges these are getting better too. But they are stil lightyears away of getting even close to copying early messing badges. As far as I'm concerned they will never manage.

                              Hi Dion,

That for sure isn't a rule. Everything depends on what maker your looking at. Once Frank's book gets published it all will become cristal clear
