For the new guys on the block. This is a known fake. Do not buy it.
The marking from this maker should be at the hinge area, not down at the catch.

Yes! Peter is correct on this. This is a known fake that has been around since sometime in the 80's. The ball-hinge Herman Aurich fakes were also produced from this same obverse tooling. The A.S. in a triangle logo is also not the logo for Assmann as the seller claims. Run away from this one.
