This is listed by R.Lumsden (page 75 of his Medals and Decorations of Hitler's Germany) as a "projected decoration", officially approved but never produced. By the way, which museum has this?

I have seen many fakes displayed in museums, and this is a good example of just such a thing.

        Best regards! Tom

I love those private museums ! Frank may be able to help me out with this one, In Bonn near me there is the German museum of technics and industry. I have heard they have a 20 th of july wound badge on display. Anyone heard of this?? My wife was there years ago and said the ww2 secton is GREAT!

Hi Chris was the rest of the display as bad as that or was that the best they had to offer.

Dion there is such a thing as the 20th of july wound badge. It was the medal awarded for all those who were wounded in the attempt on Hitlers life. They are very rare and faked. I think (and anyone please correct me if im wrong) but only twenty were awarded. I came across one on my travels in an antique shope for 250 pounds looked good and would have been the bargin of the century if real. I hope it was a fake . All the best

I almost soiled myself when I read that, and Chris the drywall and insulation comment was the sherry on top.
