    CCC in silver

    Hello,

I compared this silver ccc with all the pics in the book of D. Niemann but there are some differents.

So I tried to compare this one with some in this forum but I'm still not shure, if this one is really original.

Does someone know, if there are good fakes, that looks like this one?

    regards

    Martin

    Martin,

I dont have a problem with the badge itself. The Obverse, reverse and pin / catch and hinge all look ok for one of the variants of this type

However, the silver finish looks suspect. I'm not sure this one hasnt been repainted since WW2

      Hello Martin,

The pictures are not too good, but I agree with Darrell and believe this to be an original clasp by A.G.M.u.K. Looks like it has a plated finish, and it could very well be original to the clasp. It looks like large areas of the plated finish flaked up and peeled off the reverse. I think that is a good sign of an original finish as the plating would not adhere well to a zinc base metal. The finish on the front looks in excellent shape, and I can see why some would view it with suspicion. The front may have received a copper undercoating, which would allow the plated finish to hold up better on the front. Overall I like the clasp!
      Best regards! Tom

          Hello Martin,

this silver CCC is really close to a well known fake. There are some typical points, so that this one will be 99% a fake for me.

          regards

          Stefan

            I agree Stefan
would need a closer look at reverse to be 100%, but seems like a known fake from here...

I would keep my money and look for another clasp.
