Infantry Assault Badge - Motorized/Mechanized Infantry troops

Hi guys, I have just purchased this badge, sold as a genuine one. I think it is genuine, although I am not 100% sure about as I am more into helmets.

Maker stamp is S.H.u. Co. 41

If you need any more picture please let me know. Thanks

Hi Magro, firstly welcome to WAF, you came to the right place if you are interested in badges like this.

Sorry to say, this IAB is a fake. Nicely made with high quality modern materials, but the soft details and incorrect reverse hardware let us know it’s a cast fake unfortunately. Return it if you can and then post any future badge purchases here first before you shell out your hard earned money.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Magro, can't but agree with Tom... that badge is fake.
Hope you did not pay too much.

        Magro,

Here is what an original SHuCo IAB looks like. Keep in mind that all original solid-backed SHuCos were made from zink, which has a grey color. Yours was made from modern brass and therefore has a yellowish gold color so that is the first red flag. There are early original SHuCos made from brass, but they are hollow and thin, not solid and thick like yours.

Thank you for the warm welcome and for your help guys, especially for the pictures of an original badge.

I will try contacting the seller, hopefully he'll take it back.

          Thanks again
