Hi guys,
Be careful of this latest CCC fake from our friend Staegemeir. Very nice attempt at a 2nd Pattern FLL fake, type 2.4 in the CCC book. At first glance it looks really book, but the first red flag is the thick, bright silver plating, which is not typical of FLL products, especially their CCCs. The soft details on the obverse are also a give away, especially under such pristine finish. The reverse setup is pretty convincing, but the thick black paint on the backplate is another red flag.
Stay on your toes out there gents, these fakes are sure to fool the unsuspecting collector, especially at shows where the lighting isn't great.
