    CCC in silver JFS

    Good morning, friends,

    I would need your help for a JFS Silver CCC.

    I have had this in my collection for a few years and I remember the old man who sold it to me said to me: "buy it, it's not every day you'll see such a beautiful one".

    Today I hesitate to sell it it but when I try to find a price I realize that I can't find an identical badge at least.

    I have the impression that mine is an early model of a higher quality than the darker Zinc ones I encounter.

    Can you help me to clearly identify my badge and what would be its price in 2019? Thank you very much.

        Indeed, a very nice original JFS clasp in Silver in really nice condition. Its a pretty early 1st Pattern JFS clasp (variant Type 6.2 in the CCC book). Has a few chunks taken out of the obverse and appears to have been cleaned/scrubbed hard which makes me think this one was probably ground dug and then cleaned up. The catch may also be repaired, resoldered at the base, a few more closeups around it with the pin out of the way would tell us for sure.

        No doubt a nice original early JFS clasp with excellent silver finish remaining, and depending on the price you paid for it, appears to be a very good purchase.

          IMO have this clasp been heavily cleaned.

            I totally agree that this badge was cleaned to restore its original shine, nothing to worry about at this level in my opinion.
            As for the small repair, actually it's a good question, I just took 2 more pictures to clarify this point. But if it is a repair, it is the work of a goldsmith and not an amateur, it is perfectly executed if it is the case, what do you think?

              Something just isn’t right with the catch but pics are too dark. Try some more if you don’t mind.
