German buckle..

Hi guys,
I also do part of the forum but I do not mean much of German buckles of the last war, I only have some familiarity with material from East Germany.
This buckle (I think it is SS), was given to me by a boy who had his uncle who fought as a partisan in the last war in Tuscany (italy), his dead uncle had no children and in a drawer of the house In the country he found this buckle, since he is not interested in military material of any kind and knowing of my passion for objects in East Germany, he gave it to me.
Now I ask you experts on the subject all you can tell me about this object ....
also because my knowledge on the subject are practically equal to zero ..

I would also like to know if I can clean it with some special detergent..
