    Last Ditch PAB ?????

    Here is an unusual Panzer Assault badge in that it incorporates a "tinnie-type" pin as an attachment device.


    Note how the pin is affixed with a disk covering the pin in its center.
    Also note that the swastika is cut out.


    Weight - 36.0g, Width - 42.5 mm, Height - 59.9 mm

        Cut out swastikas did occur on the early Meybauer PABs and they are highly desirable. However this is not a Meybauer PAB. It resembles the unknown maker #1 in De Bocks book "the German Panzer Assault Badge of World War Two" That badge did not have a cut out swastika or the type of hardware shown here. A fake IMO

          Perhaps an unfinished PAB acquired by someone and a pin scavenged from some where and applied. Perhaps for the post war souvenir trade?
