    MAX Finds

    Hi guys,

Just back from the MAX, it was a good show for me and was able to find a few upgrades or fill holes in the collection. Scored two IABs, the first being a minty AS in Triangle. The finish is almost completely intact and is a thick, chrome-like finish that is hard to scan it is so reflective. The reverse has the typical bright silver matt finish and appears to be completely unworn. This IAB maker is relatively hard to find and has eluded me for many years, happy to add this one to the collection.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

The second IAB is a Cupal example! I found one several years ago (also at the MAX) but the condition was pretty lacking and appeared to have been ground dug. This one however is about as minty as they come as far as finish is concerned, but its nice that it has never been cleaned and has some really nice patina build up, especially on the reverse. If you look close at the extreme edges you can just make out some of the copper peeping through the silver finish. Unlike the AS in Triangle above, I am certain this IAB was worn. Not only for the patina, but the pin is a bit rounded at the tip, something you find with worn badges in my experience. I am very happy with this upgrade.

Along with a few others finds, these two IABs made it a great MAX show for me.

Hope you guys like them as much as I do.

I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).
