My first Silber Nahkampfspange arrived today

I've been hunting high and low for an example that I'd like. And after doing a great deal with a friendly chap from Germany, this clasp arrived on my doorstep 3 days later

Hi Jamie,

Very nice original FLL clasp in silver, a beauty with much of its original silver finish remaining. However I suspect the backplate is a replacement, its smaller than originals, the paint isn't correct for FLL and you can see that the left crimp has been punched again in an effort to keep it in place due to its small size.

Usually this would call into question the finish, however your silver finish looks perfectly fine and textbook for an FLL clasp IMO.
