unfortunately it has a small tap on the right side that can not be appreciated seeing the exquisiteness of this piece ahead. The acronym JFS have disappeared I do not understand the cause well.
I hope you like it, transmits a lot of history and National Socialism this piece.

    a greeting

The zinc pest bit it a bit, but it's still good JFS

                Hello Thom,
I understood that zincpest was manifested with green oxide. and it does not have that characteristic.
There are times I've heard that applying a layer of petroleum jelly can improve this problem. Is it true or not good at all, my friend?

Another question. Is the crown made of zinc and the eagle is buntmetall? or is it all made of zinc?

                Thanks for comment, mate

                best wishes

                    Hi Manuel,
zinkpest is like a cancer...eats. Low zinc quality alloy.
Light brown and yellow or near to white.. not green.
Dry is ok but not a final solution. Oxidation in presence of oxide does not stop unfortunately.
Removing the pest can deface it. :-(

                        Hi friends...
Well, it's a beautiful piece anyway. I paid 700e for it. I do not know if I was right or not.
                        Thank you.
and if anyone knows any solution to solve or lessen the problem, I would like you to comment, even if it is risky.

Thanks and best wishes to all.

                          Hi Manuel
                          Good price
You will not do anything about it, but do not worry, it will definitely survive longer than you. As others have said, you keep it dry

Hello dear Jacek. hahaha, thank you for commenting. Yes, it will definitely take a lot longer to break down than any of us here taking a look ... and the sight starts to fail me, :risa:

                              Manuel,
It will do it good to coat it with petroleum jelly. Let it stay coated for at least 24 hours or several days, whatever, it won't hurt it. Then gently wipe off the jelly with a very soft cloth or cotton balls. It won't cause any damage and will help stop the zinc pest from going further. Then just keep it stored in a dry environment. I've done this to my zinc badges (whether they have zinc pest or not) for over 20 years with no bad effects.
