Hello,
I'm looking for advice on this IAB by MK1. I've been reviewing this badge against the example in the book by Sascha Weber, The Infantry Assault Badges. This style badge is shown on Page 74 and 75 and is identified as 4.03 Metall und Kunststoff. Overall, the details to the obverse and reverse seem to match well with the example in the book. However, the maker mark is off. The "k" and "1" are different styles than the book illustrates. In addition, a period comes after the "1" which is also different than the example in the book. Is this just a variant maker mark for MK 1 or is this the sign of a reproduction.
Regards,
Tim
