    PAB Adolf Scholze

    Hi Guys,

What do you think about this one? Looks a bit to crude in the details to me, but the images aren't that great either.. Also the ball hinge looks completele rounded and not leveled on top. This isn't correct right?

    Best regards
    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Actually it looks like an original to me with an obviously replaced hinge pin. Some of these A.S. in a triangle Panzer Badges do have a completely spherical ball hinge. It doesn't necessarily have to have a flattened top ball hinge to be real.

    Best regards,

      Alex,
I agree with Tom. These come with both types of ball hinges, and it's not too unusual to see them where the hinge pin has come out and been replaced like this one. Here's a link to one recently posted - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=triangle+pab.

Here is another example of an original A.S. in a triangle PAB with a completely spherical ball hinge:

Alex, I don't like the way the ball hinge is rounded on the top. On a real badge the hinge has a flat spot on the top. Very nice copy though IMO, would have fooled me when I was first entered into the hobby.

              Regards;

              John

                      Hi John,

Ok so in your opinion all AS PAB should have a flat top in contrary to what Tom and Dale argued? Or do you mean that my particular example is a bad full rounded ball hinge?

                      Thank you Andy!

                      Best regards

These can be found with both flat top and round top ball hinges.

                          Hi Alex,

Tom Y and Dale are correct, these AS in Triangle PABs can be found with both flat topped and completely rounded ball hinges. Both are originals and perfectly fine, including your example. The only issue with yours is that the hingepin has been replaced.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
