General assault Badge Tombak - Hymmen - L/53

    Hello‘

I want to check this GAB before selling on E-Stand!
It’s a hard to find HYMMEN GAB , Tombak version.
Are the Tombak badges much rarer than the Zink versions?

The badge have polished edges and a polished swastika.

    Thanks for help!

The hollow tombak Hymnen is rarer than most zink pieces. Allthough the semi hollow L/53 marked zink is also fairly rare.

The badge is original ofc, condition is not to great but still a nicely worn piece.

All Hymmen hollow tombak Heer badges are very rare! GAB of this manufacturer is not an exception

Yours piece is a nice combat badge which saw some action I guess.

I can only agree with others, is the original hollow Hymmen GAB with nice wear. It probably did not lie in the drawer during the war. Mine for comparison.

I think this squabbling over circumstances you only know has little to do with posting this award for authentication.

Nice early Hymmen in decent condition.

Yes, the hollow tombak ones are rarer to find than the zinkers.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Exactly Please discuss the merits of the badge, I will remove the comments that are not relevant.

The badge looks to be a nice worn original. Additionally the fact that two others have been posted in this thread alone, would indicate that these are not the rarest of badges, but they are nice to own and desirable.

                  best regards

In other side, I can admit, that there are very few threads about tombak Hymmen GABs. It can be easily confirmed if you'll use the forum search option. And situation, when three different people post pictures of three different badges in one thread can not effect on it's frequency.

For exapmle, this summer 3 different threads about cupal Juncker PAB was opened here on WA - 2 in June, 1 in August. Does it ruin its "True rare" status??

                      Dear Heydrich.

                      I fully accept your point.

I did say they are "not the rarest" of badges and very desirable. I did not say they were common. I thought there were more out there, as I have one and pics of two more.

                      best regards

This opinion does not make sense
                        cheers;

                          Hi Jacek

I think your point is covered in posts #10 and #11.

I based my initial comment on three badges in this thread plus my own and others that I have seen in my files.

Some badges and medals it is hard to find one or two examples.

                          best regards
                          Graeme
